What is BMR?
Bare metal restore—or BMR for short—is a fast way to get a bare metal server back up and running in a disaster recovery or business continuity scenario. Configure the new Mozy system backup, and if disaster strikes, be it a hardware failure or other disaster, simply boot from the Mozy recovery tool into the recovery wizard. Choose the restore point you would like from your system backups and then boot from the restored system disk. It’s as easy as 1, 2 ,3…restore!
Why do I need BMR?
According to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), when small businesses are impacted by a disaster, 43% never reopen, 51% close within two years, and 75% close within three years if they lacked thorough business continuity plans.
The long and short of an interruption to business is this: The longer a business’s IT infrastructure and data are out of commission, the more costly the disaster becomes, both financially and to your company’s brand.
Which Mozy service is compatible with BMR?
Currently, BMR is supported with the MozyPro service with Server, and BMR is supported on servers running on Windows Server 2008 R2 and above. For more information about Mozy’s BMR offering, please reach out to us at email@example.com.
