Client Release: Mac 1.5
September 30th, 2009 by nateWe are once again proud to announce another Mozy Mac client release. Here are a few highlights from this latest release:
- Improved memory usage – The client will run much faster and use fewer resources, especially during backups and restores.
- Better client transparency during configuration – We’ve added a file scanning progress indicator, and warnings when a backup is started before the client is fully configured and when changes might be lost when the configuration is closed without saving.
- Simpler options – The list of options in the menu bar has been reduced and simplified.
- Other compatibility, stability and performance improvements.
To see the full release notes and download the new client version, check out our update section. Please note that you don’t have to download and install the new client manually, as your old client will auto-update within a week.
Finally, we are constantly looking for ways to improve Mozy, so if you have any comments or suggestions, please email us at support@mozy.com!

Can you please put back the direct link to the log file in the menu bar options, or at least have the option of switching this back on. After ‘status window’ this is my most used option.

@eduardo – We’re working on it, promise.
@ian – If you hold down the Option key while clicking on the Mozy icon in the Menu bar, the option to view and collect log files appears.

Your “downloads” section only says Mozy is for 10.4 and 10.5 .. it also works on 10.6? Cool.

Yes!!
I can’t believe you removed this.
Given the frequency that the Mozy backups stall and fail, it has become an indispensable tool.
Please return the link to the log files.

@Steve – We just hid the log file option, it can still be easily accessed by holding down the option key and clicking on the Mozy icon on the menubar.
