The connection failed.

What you can do:

Most likely this is a firewall problem. Temporarily disable your firewall and attempt a backup. If the backup is successful, go to our step-by-step firewall guide to set up your Mozy client to work with your firewall software.

If the error persists, please send the following information to homesupport@mozy.com so we can better assist you:

  1. Which Operating System do you use? (e.g. Windows XP, OS X)
  2. Which version of MozyHome are you using? (e.g. 1.8.6.21) You can find the version by right-clicking the MozyHome icon and selecting "About."
  3. What firewalls do you currently have enabled on your computer?
  4. Does your router have a firewall enabled?
  5. What Anti-Virus or Anti-Spyware do you have enabled?
  6. Which error code are you getting? (e.g. ConnectionError1)

In addition, please include the Mozy.log file as an attachment. You can find the file at:

For Windows, C:\Program Files\MozyHome\Data\Mozy.log or For Mac, /Library/Log/Mozy.log

Sometimes it looks like a text file named "Mozy."
