In its day, the mind-blowing technology of the Compact Disc was more seductive than a bacon-wrapped iPad is today. Early adopters snatched up shiny versions of their favorite albums and cataloged them in niftily designed shelves and display cases to be the envy of all those who looked on. Then, after a glorious decade, the CD's reign began to come to a grinding halt. Those who were once hailed as kings of the digital music age were reduced to antique holders, with racks full of relics. We have obtained images of some of these collections, and their proud owners, a true tribute to a great era.
